Its quasi-residential centres operate in Manchester, Stockport, Tameside, Oldham, Rochdale, Morecambe, Hull, Accrington, Clitheroe, Rawtenstall, Nelson and Burnley. ==History== ADAS was formed with support from a group of GPs in Manchester〔http://b.manchester.gov.uk/speople/directory/servicedetails.asp?sid=553〕 to provide affordable treatment to people affected by addiction. Its projects were taken forward with funding from the National Lottery. The first project was a day care centre in a shop in Stockport in 1997; the charity soon moved to the larger Oak House.
